How to Register for Classes at the Glen Burnie and  Frederick MVA's

For 2008, the Motorcycle Safety Program will be accepting registration applications for the Basic Rider Course (BRC), the Alternate Basic Rider Course (BRCII), and the Experienced Rider Course (ERC) online and by mail.

Phone registrations will not be accepted.

Online registration opens and applications will be accepted beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 29, 2008 for classes through the end of June.
Please note:  All Basic Rider Courses (BRC) and Alternate Basic Rider Courses (BRCII) are full at both the Glen Burnie and Frederick MVA's.  Seats in the Experienced Rider Courses (ERC) are available at both centers.  Please call the program office at 443-572-8236 to register.

Instructions for Submitting an Application Online
Note:  You are only submitting an application.  Submitting an application does not guarantee you a spot in a course.  Please read the instructions below before completing the application.

  • Applications will be processed in the order they are received.
  • Complete the application fully.  Be sure all your personal information is accurate.  You can select the Glen Burnie MVA or Frederick MVA training center.  Select the course you want:  BRC, BRCII, or ERC.  Incomplete applications will not be processed.
  • Include your credit card information.  Only MasterCard, American Express and Visa are accepted.  Payment must be made at the time of registration to confirm a spot in a class.  If your credit card is denied your application will not be processed.  If your credit card is denied we will make one attempt to contact you during our regular business hours at the daytime phone number on your application.  If we are unable to contact you, your application may not be processed.
  • Click on the "E-mail" button to send your application.  A "Thank You" page with a confirmation number will appear.  You can print this page for your records.  This means that your application has been delivered to the Motorcycle Safety Program's email address "Inbox".  You are not registered in a course and your credit card has not been charged.
  • If your application is accepted you will be given the first spot for the earliest date in a class at the training center you selected.  Your course materials will be mailed to you within two weeks.
  • Individuals submitting an application after classes are full will be contacted by e-mail and their application destroyed.

Online Application
(The link to the online application will remain ACTIVE as long as there are openings in the classes.)
Important Note.  Please Read:  Vista and/or Internet Explorer 7.0 users may get a blank Adobe window after clicking the Email button to submit their registration application.  Your application has been sent and received, but compatibility problems with Vista and IE prevent the Confirmation Page from being sent.  Note:  If you open the form and the labels for the fields are not visible, this is a problem with your browser.  This form uses "Active X Controls" and some browsers, like Firefox, restrict the use of these kinds of add-ons.

If you do not have a credit card we will also be accepting applications by mail.  Complete the application and click the "Print/Save" button.  Mail the completed application along with a check or money order to:
